For those who have had the chance to see Ip Man 3 got to see Max Zhang in a classic Wing Chun duel against Donnie Yen‘s iconic grandmaster and teacher of Bruce Lee. Announced late last year, it was announced that Zhang’s character will be getting his own spin-off films.

The new teaser poster shows Zhang’s Cheung Tin-Chi sporting the mask he wore when he attacked the character played by Bryan Leung Ka-Yan. However, the poster has announced some very intricate casting of the film to be directed by Yuen Woo-Ping.

Zhang will be joined by Michelle Yeoh, Tony Jaa, and Dave Bautista. Yeoh starred in another Yuen film as the character whose martial art would be learned by the real Ip Man in 1994. Jaa has recently been making his mark in both Chinese and Hollywood films while Bautista, a former pro wrestler, has made his mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and recently appeared as Tong Po in the reboot Kickboxer: Vengeance.

Pegasus Motion Pictures will be unleashing Cheung Tin-Chi sometime in late 2017/early 2018.
