Three war veterans are set to turn the VFW into a battleground in 2020 with RLJE Films acquiring the rights to the eponymous horror-action thriller as they team up with Fangoria Films.
The film is gearing to make its debut at the Fantastic Fest, which starts tomorrow in Austin, Texas. The film stars legendary actors Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe, Into the Badlands), William Sadler (Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, Bill and Ted Face the Music), and Fred Williamson (Black Caesar, Black Cobra) as Fred, Abe, and Walter, three war veterans who seek to protect their local VFW post and an innocent team from a deranged drug dealer and his army of punk mutants.
Martin Kove (The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai), David Patrick Kelly (The Warriors, Crooklyn) and George Wendt (Cheers) co-star in the film along Tom Williamson, Sierra McCormick, and Dora Madison.
Joe Begos directed the film with a script by The Last Kids on Earth creator Max Braillier and Matthew McArdle. The film was produced by Dallas Sonnier, Amanda Presmyk, and Josh Ethier.
RLJE Films is setting an early 2020 release for VFW.
