Another horror remake is on the horizon as production has begun on Rabid, a remake of the classic 1977 David Cronenberg film.

The original starred Marilyn Chambers as a woman who after getting into a motorcycle accident, she is healed only to have a deadly appendage under her arm that kills and eventually turns its victims into blood-thirsty zombies.

The remake has cast Laura Vandervoort in the Chambers role. Rose is a woman who, following a disfiguring accident, receives an untested stem cell treatment that, while it restores her beauty, has dangerous consequences.

Joining Vandervoort are Ben Hollingsworth as a fashion photographer, Hanneke Talbot as Rose’s best friend, and Mackenzie Gray as an arrogant fashion designer. Also in the film are former wrestling star CM Punk and his real-life wife, A.J. Mendez.

Jen and Sylvia Soska are currently shooting the film in Toronto with a 2019 release date.
