“Aquaman” Finds Its Black Manta; Possibly the Parents as Well

The upcoming Aquaman movie starring Jason Momoa already has a primary villain in half-brother Ocean Master. However, news have been revealed that one of his greatest nemeses, Black Manta, will be in the film after all.

Yahya Abdul Mateen II (right) is in negotiations to play Black Manta, a powerful villain known to have a trident and is quite the schemer. The character made his debut in 1967.

It has also been revealed that filmmakers are looking into two veterans to play the half-man half-Atlantean superhero’s parents. Nicole Kidman is being considered for the role of his mother Atlanna of Atlantis while Temuera Morrison is being eyed to play Mr. Curry, the human father of our hero.

Amber Heard plays Mera, Willem Dafoe will play advisor Dr. Vulko, and Patrick Wilson will play Ocean Master, aka Orm, the hero’s half-brother. James Wan is directing the film, which has locked down an October 5, 2018 release date with production set to begin in April.
