While it is clear that master of horror Dario Argento is none too thrilled with a soon to be shot remake of his 1977 classic Suspiria, the same can’t be said about the star of that film.
Jessica Harper, who played the lead character Suzy Bannion in the original film, has joined the cast of the remake, which is being helmed by Luca Guadagnino. While her role is that of a character named Anke, she will join the likes of Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Mia Goth in the film, which Guadagnino has confirmed will keep its original 1970’s setting.
Johnson plays the new lead, Susie Bannion, who enters a prestigious ballet academy, only to discover the school and its headmistress, Madame Blane, hold a terrible and deadly secret.
Production is set to begin soon for a late 2017 release date.
