WWE Studios’ upcoming faith-based dramedy is revealed in the first trailer, which stars Brett Dalton of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. alongside WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who makes his feature film debut.

Dalton plays the titular Gavin Stone, a former child star turned washed up actor who after a run-in with the law is ordered to do community service at a local church. When he pretends to be a Christian to find a “comeback” as Jesus Christ for an Easter production, he soon discovers a new lease on life, one that could change his life for the better forever.

Alongside Dalton and Michaels are D.B. Sweeney, Christopher Maleki, and Anjelah Johnson-Reyes. Dallas Jenkins directed the film from a script by Andrea Gyertson Nasfell.

The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is due for release on January 20, 2017 from WWE Studios.
