The first official photo of Dylan O’Brien in the upcoming adaptation of Vince Flynn‘s novel American Assassin has come online and he’s ready for some action.
In the film, O’Brien plays Mitch Rapp, a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley, played by Michael Keaton. The pair are enlisted to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Teaming up with a lethal Turkish agent, they must stop a mysterious operative intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.
Sanaa Lathan, Shiva Negar, and Taylor Kitsch co-star with Kitsch playing the villain of the film. Michael Cuesta is directing the film with Stephen Schiff‘s screen adaptation of Flynn’s novel. Production is underway in Europe.
O’Brien will return after this film to complete production on The Maze Runner: The Death Cure which halted production in April when O’Brien was seriously injured in a car stunt gone wrong.
Look for American Assassin to be released sometime in 2017.
