Dafoe Takes on the “Death Note” in Remake

Now this is news that comes out of left field. While shooting has begun on the Hollywood remake of the Japanese manga Death Note, the voice of the demon known as Ryuk has been found.

Willem Dafoe, who is currently at work on Justice League, has signed on to voice the demon, who serves as an ally to lead character Light, played by Nat Wolff in the film. The film also stars Margaret Qualley and Keith StanfieldAdam Wingard is currently directing the film, which will make its debut on Netflix next year.

Meanwhile, a sequel of the original Japanese film series, Death Note: Light Up the New World, is scheduled for release in Japan this October.
