Those awaiting the release of Pacific Rim 2 (above, the film’s Jaegers) can somewhat rejoice! The good news? The sequel is happening! The bad news? Guillermo Del Toro will only come back as a producer. Marvel’s Daredevil season one showrunner Steven S. DeKnight will make his feature directorial debut on the sequel with a script by Jon Spaihts. However, Del Toro is in support of DeKnight’s hiring.

Production on the film adaptation of long-running syndicated series Baywatch has begun. With the massive success since its February 12 release in the United States as well as globally, the R-rated superhero film Deadpool is definitely going to get a sequel as it comes closer to become the highest-grossing R-rated film in history. Ryan Reynolds is currently negotiating to return as the “Merc with a Mouth”, but script writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are already ready to begin scripting the next installment.

Speaking of Reynolds, production begins on his first post-Deadpool role on April 2nd. The film, titled Hitman’s Bodyguard will have Reynolds play a top protection agent whose latest client is a retired hitman, played by Samuel L. Jackson. The suo must fight their way to the Hague in the Netherlands, where Gary Oldman‘s dictator is waiting with his troops to get rid of the duo. Elodie Yung and Salma Hayek will co-star in the film for Millennium Films and Lionsgate under the direction of Jeff Wadlow.

With its impending release on March 25, we all know that Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will garner a PG-13 rating. However, a Blu-Ray extended edition will in fact have an official MPAA rating of R for “sequences of violence”.

Hugh Jackman is going to be bowing out as the X-Man known as Wolverine in a film to be directed by James Mangold and based on the story Old Man Logan. The interesting news is that this final movie with Jackman as Wolvie will garner an MPAA rating of R.

Those who are hoping that Daniel Craig will take one more turn as 007 himself, James Bond, will be disappointed to learn that he is officially finished with Bond. The producers made the confirmation that his contract was up and should Craig change his mind, a new deal would have to be done.
