After making quite an impact in last year’s throwback The Last Kumite, YouTuber David Kurzhal aka Viking Samurai, takes the lead on his first action film and who better to direct it than the underrated Rene Perez.

During a transfer to a remote prison island, a determined young policewoman and a deadly inmate are caught in the middle of a violent prison break. Forced to rely on each other, they must fight through chaos to survive.

Joining Kurzhal in the action are veterans Michael Pare and Richard Tyson alongside Krista Hedins and Michael Nesto, who co-wrote the film with Perez, who is known for his amazing throwback films to grindhouse action and horror. This is clearly a throwback to 1990s American martial arts action films.

And even better, it’s coming sooner than you think…

Bloodstorm will be on VOD, Digital and DVD on July 1 from One Tree Entertainment.
