On March 1, 2025, I had the pleasure of hosting the 15th Anniversary of the release of the cult classic Slime City Massacre, which was released on February 18, 2010. The idea came about in the summer of 2024 after actors Brooke Lewis Bellas and Debbie Rochon along with writer/director Greg Lamberson were inducted to the WorldFilmGeek Hall of Fame.
Brooke came up with the idea of the reunion and with help from Debbie and Greg, preliminary planning began in the summer. After projects in the Fall came around, January 2025 would mark when things went full swing.
The reunion marked Brooke Lewis Bellas‘ first media event in nearly three years and it was great seeing her, even when she was emotional. Joining her were Greg Lamberson, Debbie Rochon, Jennifer McMahon (formerly Jennifer Bihl), Lee Perkins, John Renna, Sephera Giron, and the duo of Craig Sabin and Mary Bogle, who had the distinction of appearing in not only Slime City Massacre, but the original 1988 film Slime City, which marked Lamberson’s film debut.
For two hours (and even some time before) , we had a great time talking stories about making the film, the possible future of indie cinema, genre films, what could have been ideas of a possible 3rd film, and so much more!
I was proud to have hosted this event and I can’t thank everyone enough who participated and viewed the Livestream event yesterday. But a big Thank You has to go out to Brooke, Debbie, and Greg for helping plan this event and this could be the beginning of something really special!
You can watch Slime City Massacre now on Tubi.
