It looks like Dimitri Logothetis is really gearing to end his Kickboxer reboot trilogy on a high as three mixed martial arts fighters have joined the cast opposite Alain Moussi as Kurt Sloane and the recently announced Scott Adkins as main villain Cesare.

Former UFC fighter Paige VanZant and current UFC fighters Derrick Lewis and Jorge Masvidal have all signed up to join the cast of the film. VanZant was originally cast as “Gamon” in the second film of the trilogy, 2018’s Kickboxer: Retaliation, only to depart the film before shooting had began. Jessica Jann replaced VanZant in the role. Details of the trio’s roles are under wraps at this time.

In Kickboxer: Armageddon, having defeated both Tong Po and Mongkut, Kurt Sloane (Moussi) has his life turned his upside down when his wife and unborn child are killed in an explosion. Sloane learns the perpetrator is Cesare (Adkins), a sadistic cult leader who is the brother of his mentor, Master Durand (played by the OG Kickboxer, Jean-Claude Van Damme). This leads Kurt to head to Myanmar and unleash his fury on the underground fight ring led by this crazed fighter.

Logothetis will be directing the film based on a script he wrote; based on characters created by Van Damme and Mark DiSalle. He will also be producing alongside Robert Hickman and Euthymios Logothetis. Supoj “Jim” Khaowwong will be serving as the film’s stunt coordinator and action choreographer with shooting to begin in April in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Kickboxer: Armageddon is targeted for a late 2024/early 2025 release date.
