James Gunn has found his new Superman and Lois Lane.

David Corenswet (We Own This City) has beat out Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney to officially sign the deal to play Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan (The Fabulous Ms. Maisel) beat out Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dyvenor to play Lois Lane in Gunn’s upcoming Superman: Legacy, which will be a part of the new DC Universe created by Gunn and Peter Safran.

The new film, along with the animated series Creature Commandos and the live-action series Waller (which will bring Viola Davis back from her role in Suicide Squad and Peacemaker) will kick off the “Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters” phase of the DC Universe. Details are not known on the film, but a release date of July 11, 2025 is set for Superman: Legacy.
