It’s time to finally return to The Matrix in the official trailer to the long awaited fourth installment of the franchise, The Matrix Resurrections.

Keanu Reeves returns to the role of Thomas “Neo” Anderson, who after saving the world in the 2003 film The Matrix Revolutions, looks to have survived but now is stricken with amnesia as does Carrie-Anne Moss‘s Trinity. When Neo meets a now younger version of his mentor Morpheus (Yahya Abdul Mateen II), Neo once must again learn his destiny again to once again, save the world.

Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Jada Pinkett Smith co-star in the film co-written and directed by original franchise co-creator Lana Wachowski.

The Matrix Resurrections will be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBOMax’s ad-free version of its streaming service on December 22.
