Pictures are worth a thousand words and this one has said it all…the gang is back!
The long-gesturing threequel Clerks III is currently in production in New Jersey and this first look reveals the return of the franchise’s main protagonists Dante (Brian O’Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson), along with Clerks II‘s Becky (Rosario Dawson) and Elias (Trevor Fehrman).
In the new film, Randal suffers a heart attack and becomes inspired to make a film about life at the Quick Stop Grocery store. They get help in the returning Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (writer-director Kevin Smith).
Smith said his heart attack in 2018 (which inspired him to lose weight and be healthier) was a major influence in the third film’s story. Clerks premiered in 1994 as an indie hit, followed by 2006’s Clerks II, which pushed the envelope (including a famous walkout by the late legendary film critic Joel Siegel). What’s in store for Clerks III? We will find out in 2022.
