Zombie to Direct “Munsters” Film

Rob Zombie is set to direct his dream project and it’s a feature film of a classic TV series.

Taking to his official Instagram, Zombie has announced he will be directing the feature film adaptation of the 1964-66 series The Munsters. The series revolved around a family consisting of Herman (resembling Frankenstein’s monster), Lily (a vampiress), Grandpa (Lily’s vampire dad), Eddie (a werewolf), and niece Marilyn (who looks normal compared to her family).

Production is scheduled to begin in May of 2022 and will feature two of Zombie’s film regulars. Jeff Daniel Phillips is set to play Herman and Zombie’s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, is set to play Lily. Richard Brake, Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia and Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson are also rumored to be joining the cast.

Known originally for his foray into music as the lead singer of metal band White Zombie, Zombie would go on to become a well-known auteur in the horror genre. His works include the 2007 remake of Halloween and its 2009 sequel and his Firefly Saga, which consists of House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and 3 from Hell.

More as this develops.
