It’s time for John Rambo to draw Last Blood.
Sylvester Stallone is returning to one of his most iconic characters in a fifth and final installment of the Rambo film series. It all began with 1982’s First Blood, followed by 1985’s Rambo: First Blood Part II. Then came 1989’s Rambo III and then 2008’s Rambo. Now comes Rambo: Last Blood, which brings the hero out of retirement to save a loved one.
Retired to an Arizona ranch, John Rambo learns that the granddaughter of the ranch’s owner, who he has grown close to as much as family, has been kidnapped by a Mexican cartel. This prompts Rambo to come out of retirement for the final time as he intends to go after the cartel, with the aid of a reporter whose half-sister has also been kidnapped by the same cartel.
Paz Vega joins Stallone on this adventure as they go up against the likes of Sergio Peris-Mencheta and his gang. Adrian Grunberg directed the film from a script by Stallone and Matthew Cirulnick; based on the character created by David Morrell.
Rambo: Last Blood will be released on September 20 from Lionsgate and Millennium Media.
