If you don’t know the name Kane Hodder, prepare to do so in June!

Hodder, a legendary stuntman and horror film actor, is the subject of an upcoming documentary entitled To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story, which has been picked up by Dread Central Presents.

The film is the first documentary film acquired by Dread Central Presents, is directed by Derek Dennis Herbert and portrays the harrowing story of famed stuntman Hodder, who overcame a dehumanizing childhood filled with torment and bullying in Sparks, Nevada. In addition to his childhood, the documentary focuses on his survival of a near-death burn accident as well as his career as a genre icon that spans over 100 films and saw him kill more people on screen than any other actor.

Hodder has been seen in action films like Best of the Best (as Burt, the guy who starts a fight with Chris Penn’s Travis at the bar) and its 1992 sequel (as the doorman of the club where the Coliseum is held). However, he is best known as the actor who took on the iconic slasher roles of Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th VII-Jason X and Victor Crowley in the Hatchet trilogy followed by the recently released Victor Crowley. Hodder even played the stunt double for R.A. Mihailoff‘s take on Leatherface in Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III in 1990.

The film will be released in select theaters on June 28, followed by a Blu-Ray combo pack and VOD platforms on July 13, which marks the 41st anniversary of Hodder’s near-fatal accident.
