Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better…it just has!
Ryan Reynolds will provide motion capture and will provide the voice for the titular character in Detective Pikachu, a film version of the Pokemon-universe video game where the beloved Pikachu is re-imagined as a Sherlock Holmes-style detective.
The film co-stars Justice Smith as a young man whose father is kidnapped and gets an ally in the titular character and joining them as a sassy journalist is Kathryn Newton.
Rob Letterman will be directing the film from a script by Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch.
Detective Pikachu is set to begin production soon for a 2018 release.
