The live-action adaptation of the 80’s video game Rampage may have its hero in Dwayne Johnson (right) and now, it looks like we have the one responsible for the carnage.

Malin Akerman (left) is in negotiations to play the head of a tech company whose engineering will result in a genetically enhanced and monstrous gorilla, lizard, and wolf. The trio of monsters wreak havoc amongst the city with Johnson having to save the day.

Akerman joins Johnson as well as Naomie Harris, Joe Manganiello, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, PJ Byrne, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald, and Breanne Hill.

Johnson, who also serves as executive producer, will reunite with Brad Peyton, who directed the former wrestler turned actor on San Andreas. The script was written by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan Condal, and Adam Sztykiel.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in April with a release date of April 20, 2018 from New Line Cinema.
