Get ready for a slick style of close quarter combat like never seen before in the trailer for Yuji Shimomura‘s action thriller Re:Born.

The film stars Tak Sakaguchi as Toshiro a small store clerk lives a quiet live with a young girl Sachi in the countryside of Ishikawa prefecture. Although his life is seemingly calm and peaceful, he sometimes struggles desperately to control his inner destructive impulse going on a rampage. One day, an enigmatic murder occurs in this small town. Later it turns out to be a warning from a mysterious man to Toshiro.

However, Toshiro holds a little secret. Toshiro was once a member of a covert operative unit skilled in a military style known as “Ghost Tactic”. He learns his former commander Phantom has returned and is seeking revenge against Toshiro, who longs to just live a normal life.

Yura Kondo, Masaya Kato, Mariko Shinoda, Hitomi Hasebe, Akio Otsuka, and Takumi Satoh co-star in the film, which features action supervised by Yoshitaka Inagawa, a real-life combat instructor who runs his own academy, the Zero Range Combat school in Japan.

The film is expected to come out later this year.
