Major news has surrounded the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. Into the Badlands lead star Daniel Wu has joined the cast alongside Alicia Vikander as the new Lara Croft.

Wu will play Lu Ren, a ship captain who will help Lara find her father, Lord Croft. Walton Goggins will play the film’s villain. Wu recently completed work on season two of the AMC martial arts series, which is set to air this spring. Roar Uthaug will be directing the reboot of the video game, which had two live-action films in 2001 and 2003 with Angelina Jolie as the British adventurer.

Tomb Raider is set for a March 16, 2018 release from MGM.
