The versatile Japanese director Takashi Miike has lately had his share fair of live-action adaptation of manga and anime, from the family film Ninja Kids to his recently released Terra Formars and upcoming Blade of the Immortal.

Warner Brothers Japan and Toho has teamed up with Miike to bring another manga/anime to life. This time, it will be Jojo’s Bizarre AdventureHirohiko Araki‘s Shonen Jump comic debuted in 1987 and revolves around the Joestar Family, a clan who have special formidable powers and uses them to defeat supernatural villains.

The film adaptation will revolve around the fourth part of the series, “Diamond is Unbreakable” and Kento Yamazaki has scored the central role of main protagonist, Jotaro Higashitaka.

After some OVAs and a film, an anime series was released in 2012, which is available to see on Crunchyroll. As for the film itself, a summer 2017 release date has been locked down from Warner Brothers and Toho.
