February 14, 2026 (Florida): It is time to finally announce a rebrand! 

After over ten years, WorldFilmGeek is officially undergoing a rebrand as it switches gears for full focus on independent films of old and new, along with world cinema. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the output of independent films has risen to a major high and with that coverage, it felt it was time to come up with a new name and new logo to keep that mission in mind.

On March 1, WorldFilmGeek will officially become Indie World Cinema.

New Name…Same Mission.

Plans are for a change of the blog and YouTube channel to reflect the new name. In addition, beginning in March, all interviews will be available on both YouTube and Spotify under the name Indie Chat.

The Video Store Geek Podcast will still be available and fall under the Indie World Cinema banner. In addition, the Hall of Fame will still be around under its new name and on December 15, the 1st annual Indie World Cinema Awards will happen exclusively, as always, on YouTube.

Look out the new change as we usher in the Indie World Cinema era beginning on March 1.
