In 1978, one of the most controversial horror films was released in the Gorgon Video series Faces of Death. It is now time for a new generation to experience the insanity behind it and IFC and Shudder are spearheading the new version.

They have acquired the recently filmed reboot, directed by the duo of Daniel Goldhaber and Isa Mazzei.

In FACES OF DEATH, the exploration of the original film’s infamous “is it real or not?” conceit continues as a woman working as a content moderator for a major video platform discovers what appears to be re-enactments of murders from the original film. In an online world where nothing can be trusted, she must determine whether the violence is fiction, or unfolding in real time.

The film stars Barbie Ferreira, Dacre Montgomery, Josie Totah, Aaron Holliday, Jermaine Fowler, and Charli XCX.

An uncensored teaser trailer had been leaked online and was ultimately censored by YouTube. However, IFC and Shudder have released a more algorithm friendly version of the trailer, which you can see below.

Faces of Death comes to theaters on April 10.
