In January, Fall‘s Virginia Gardner and Street Fighter‘s Mel Jarnson are set to face off against a Killer Whale in the official trailer.

After a life-shattering tragedy, Trish tries to comfort her best friend, Maddie, by taking her on a spectacular adventure in a private lagoon halfway across the world. Their peaceful retreat soon becomes a terrifying fight to stay alive when the ocean’s most bloodthirsty predator seeks vengeance for a brutal life in captivity.

Co-starring Descendants franchise actor Mitchell Hope, the film was co-written by Jo-Anne Brechin and Katharine E. McPhee with Brechin directing as well.

Killer Whale will be unleashed in theaters, On Demand, and Digital on January 16 from Lionsgate.
