It was another stellar year with this year’s WorldFilmGeek Awards! This year was it’s toughest yet but one film reigned supreme.

The horror film Garden of Eden, which earned the highest nominations ever in a WorldFilmGeek Awards year with eleven, won six awards, including the top prize of Best Overall Film of 2025. It also won Best Horror Film, Best Special FX (Vincent Guastini), Best Director (two-time WFG Award winner Marcel Walz), Best Cinematography (two-time WFG Award winner Marcus Friedlander), and Best Supporting Female Performance (Sarah French).

The film’s six awards has surpassed the record for the most awards, held previously by 2021’s Slumber Party Massacre reboot, which held five awards.

The South African sci-fi-romance-horror-adventure The Forest won three awards with Ruan Wessels winning Best Lead Male Performance and Reine Swart making history earning two WorldFilmGeek awards for Best Editing and the first Best Screenplay Award.

Prisoner of War, starring Scott Adkins and directed by Louis Mandylor took two awards including Best Action Film and Best Action and Stunts (Alvin Hsing).

Both Sarah French and Reine Swart also hold the record for the most awards by a single performer at three each. French’s wins for both Best Lead Actress (Brute 1976) and Best Supporting Actress last night added to her 2023 win for Best Lead Female for That’s a Wrap while Swart’s wins added to her winning the inaugural Best New Director award in 2020 for The Hex.

Lewis Santer joins Liana Liberato, Cameron Scott, Jenna Ortega, Natalie Denise Sperl, and his Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II co-star Scott Chambers as this year’s Breakout Star. The late Michael Mahal won this year’s Film Geekdom Award for his impact in the indie film industry.

Finally, Patrick Kilpatrick, Lynn Lowry, and Kelly Barlow are joining Donald Farmer and Kimberly Cole Zemke as member of the 2026 WorldFilmGeek Hall of Fame.
