A new teaser trailer to the upcoming Toxic Avenger reboot was released yesterday and it looks to have a bit of homage to the original 1980s classic.

The first half looks like an ad for the Miss Meat restaurant that soon intercuts with the appearance of villains taking over the place only for Toxie to show up and do some heavy duty damage via his radiated mop.

This scene is reminiscent of the original Toxic Avenger classic fight scenes where Toxie shows up at a Mexican restaurant to wipe out a trio of thugs who have taken over the place. Indie movie legend Patrick Kilpatrick made his film debut as one of the thugs in this scene.

Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon star in the Macon Blair-scripted and directed film, coming to theaters on August 29 from Cineverse and Legendary Pictures in association with Troma Entertainment.
