With the upcoming release of Macon Blair‘s reboot of Troma icon The Toxic Avenger, we got a look at the first images of the mutant hero himself. However, more had popped up over the weekend.

First, Creepy Duck Design has created the official teaser poster for the film as seen below.

And if that’s not awesome enough, yesterday in Chicago, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the city dyed their river green and a certain mutant hero appeared in the midst of the Windy City…okay, Toxie actually was on a boat to promote the film.

When a downtrodden janitor, Winston Gooze (Peter Dinklage), is exposed to a catastrophic toxic accident, he’s transformed into a new kind of hero: The Toxic Avenger (Dinklage voicing with Luisa Gueirrero in the suit). Now, Toxie must rise from outcast to savior, taking on ruthless corporate overlords and corrupt forces who threaten his son, his friends, and his community. In a world where greed runs rampant… justice is best served radioactive.

Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon co-star in the film, written and directed by Blair based on the iconic 1984 cult classic from Troma. Troma founders Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz serve as executive producers on the film.

The Toxic Avenger will be in theaters on August 29 from Cineverse.
