A year a half after his debut at Fantastic Fest, we’re finally getting to see a first look at the new Toxic Avenger thanks to Entertainment Weekly

In the film, set for a theatrical release on August 29, Peter Dinklage plays Winston Gooze, a janitor at a chemical factory who, after attempting to rob his boss to pay for medical bills, is thrown in a pool of toxic waste and becomes the titular mutant hero. It is then he becomes a hero as he takes on his now former employers, who are the epitome of evil.

Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, and Taylour Paige co-star in the film with Luisa Gueirerro, a stunt and motion capture performer, playing the physical embodiment of Toxie with Dinklage providing the voice. The new look, by Millennium FX, is based on a meshing of the original 1984 Toxie designed by Jennifer Aspinall, the cartoon series Toxic Crusaders, and something new. Macon Blair wrote and directed the film.

Cineverse will release The Toxic Avenger on August 29.
