A husband and wife go to desperate lengths to achieve the virtually impossible in this insane dark comedy from filmmaker Tiffany Kim Stevens.

George is a suburban househusband who is somewhat not having a happy life. His wife Alice is an aspiring actress who is trying to land a major commercial to jump start her career. However, her focus leads to her berating George at every turn and it is to where George, who works at a local restaurant, is slowly beginning to have had enough. Out on a walk, he sees a sign for the Bahamas and he decides he wants to start a new life.

However, there is one small bump in his plans to start a new life. And that’s Alice. In addition, a new law has passed where if you own a firearm, you get free health insurance. Deciding to try to kill Alice to get her life insurance, George decides to execute his plan. However, when he tries to set a plan in motion, there always tends to be an obstacle preventing him from succeeding. Will George be able to accomplish his dream of starting a new life?

In a world where people have to question whether they should laugh at things because there are those who may find just the slightest thing offensive, filmmaker Tiffany Kim Stevens wants to reassure you that it’s okay to laugh, This insane absurd dark comedy is exactly the type of film we need, set in a somewhat strange 1950s era world where firearms are the key to getting health insurance. However, in the midst of this land, the film brings to mind the classic Throw Mama from the Train and adds quite some twists with showing more of the dominant female and submissive male.

Tyler Poelle is funny as George, the miserable husband who is looking for a way to get rid of his wife so he can start a new life in the Bahamas. However, it is clear why exactly he is not happy. He is always berated by his wife. He has a pretty cruddy job and gets berated by his boss on a daily basis. He also owes a huge debt to local store owner Kent. His reactions to the failed attempts to kill Alice are actually quite funny!

Elsha Kim is also funny as Alice, who longs to be the spokeswoman for the Shamwo…err, Wow Sponge! She is so hellbent on living her dream that unlike George, we get Alice executing murders, but all in her mind. Kind of reminiscent of some guy named Patrick Bateman. Aside from Kim, kudos must go out to Christina Kirkman as Alice’s bestie Gemma, a high school principal who while in a relationship, is extremely promiscuous which leads to some insane twists in the story.

Trigger Happy is an insane absurd dark comedy in a somewhat alternate universe that works and proves no matter how despite the insanity of the world we may live in, it’s okay to laugh and just enjoy yourself. Definitely one for dark comedy lovers!

The film will be out on Digital and On Demand on February 25
