After her successful triple win at the 2024 WorldFilmGeek Awards for her adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984, Diana Ringo is back with a new film soon to be released.
Titled The Curse of Modigliani, the story revolves around an American painter in Helsinki who discovers a diary that once belongs to famous artist Amadeo Modigliani. He soon discovers this life slowly begins to emulate that of the famed master himself in both love and betrayal.
After making two films in Russia, Ringo shot the film in her native Helsinki, Finland and co-stars as the main character’s love interest Julia. British actor Edward Pishiyski takes on the role of our central character Max. The film also marks Ringo’s first English language film following both Quarantine and 1984, which were shot in Russian.
The film was shot in the summer of 2024 in Helsinski and features a local supporting cast including Sakari Viitala, Aksel Spencer, Illka Hautala, and Kari Ketonen.
