WFG RATING (BLU-RAY): A
Get ready for an awesome and Furious ride with Visual Vengeance’s Blu-Ray release this coming Tuesday, Feburary 25.
The film has a terrific transfer that makes it look like a clear 1980s VHS copy of the film, nicely remastered for the home video fanatics. You can see my full review of the film here. As a matter of fact, a quote from the review was featured on the Visual Vengeance trailer, which was very exciting to see!
What about the special features? Well, once again, the company delivers and has two terrific interviews with the film’s directors, Tim Everitt and Tom Sartori. There are also some very interesting video essays by Justin Decloux, one featuring the Rhee Brothers’ film career and another one on no-budget martial arts films with a great plug on the one platform you can see a lot of B-movie martial arts of old and new: Tubi.
There are also some great short films from Everitt, a six-song EP from New Zealand rock band Scorched Earth Policy and Cinema Face, live in concert from 1986. There’s commentary from Everitt and additional commentary by Decloux and Peter Kuplowsky. There’s a reel of music videos directed by Sartori and both original trailers and the VV trailer.
Is the Visual Vengeance Blu-Ray worth getting? Abso-freaking-lutely!!! If you love martial arts, weird Cinema, and some great extras, then this is a title to get!!!
Get Furious on Blu-Ray from Visual Vengeance on February 25!
