Detective Eric Visser is back after nearly 4 decades as Huub Stapel returns to the role in the teaser trailer to Amsterdamned II.

While the trailer (and film) is in Dutch, the plot reveals that detective Tara Lee is on the case involving a series of murders in the Amsterdam canals, something that happened nearly 40 years ago. As she becomes baffled, she gets helps from someone who has dealt with the same thing: the now retired detective Eric Visser. Together, Visser and Lee must find out who, or possibly what, is killing the people in the capital city.

Holly Mae Brood, Lesley Grant, Baz Keijzer, and another returning original cast member, Tatum Dagelet, co-star in the film, written and directed by the one and only Dick Maas. Danny Elsen lensed the film with Marco Maas serving as the film’s stunt coordinator.

Celebrating the 750th anniversary of the founding of Amsterdam, the film will be released in December 2025 in the Netherlands. With the original film’s success in the United States in the late 80s, chances are it may get a North American release in 2026.
