It is official!!! The Toxic Avenger has been saved and you can thank Cineverse!!!

The Macon Blair-directed reboot of the 1984 Troma classic, released in film festivals in late 2023, had been deemed unreleasable a few months ago. However, with the success of Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3 in theaters, Cineverse has made the deal with Legendary Pictures, who made the reboot with the help of Troma, and a theatrical release has been set for later this year in its unrated version.

The reboot stars Peter Dinklage as Winston Gooze, who after an attempt to steal money from the company he works in for medical bills, is caught and forced into a pool of toxic waste and becomes the new titular mutant superhero. Dinklage still provides the voice of Toxie while stunt performer Luisa Guerrero plays the physical form of our beloved monster hero.

Taylour Paige, Jacob Tremblay, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon co-star in the film and I for one, cannot wait to see this in theaters when it hits!
