What could pose as a tourism video for our neighbors to the North is a satirical trip into madness and hysterics in this short film from Vincenzo Nappi.
Canada is a wonderful place to live. It’s full of nature, animals, and wildlife. The people are proud to be a part of the country…but is it really that beautiful of a place? Well, it is, but what filmmaker Nappi does is illustrate the beauty of Canada but add a sense of insanity in the form of a housewife who while appreciating two birds, proceeds to do the unthinkable to one. Then it goes back into pride with the singing of the national anthem, which then turns into something that has to be seen to believe. And this is meant in a jaw-dropping kind of way.
With a runtime of just over six minutes, Oh…Canada is funny, beautiful, and madcap all in a nicely wrapped little package. There are a few jaw-dropping moments but that doesn’t take away the fact that Canada is a place of beauty and loads of fun!
The film recently premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival.
