Today, July 15, WorldFilmGeek celebrates its 9th anniversary of its inception by celebrating this year’s WorldFilmGeek Hall of Fame. Since its founding in 2020, the WorldFilmGeek Hall of Fame celebrates those involved mainly in both independent and global cinema. This year’s Hall of Fame inductees are:
Brooke Lewis Bellas, actor and producer, known for her work in various films like Slime City Massacre, iMurders, and Red Rooms.
Joe Cornet, actor and filmmaker, known for his work in the Western genre over the past decade.
Jen and Sylvia Soska, twin filmmakers, known for their work in the horror genre, including American Mary, Rabid, and See No Evil 2 just to name a few.
Lloyd Kaufman, the co-founder of Troma Entertainment, who has supported fans and fellow Tromites over the past 5 decades.
Debbie Rochon, iconic indie film actress, known for her work with Troma and horror films.
Mark Dacascos, martial artist and actor, known for his work in films like Only the Strong, Kickboxer 5, Cyring Freeman, and John Wick: Chapter 3
Gregory Lamberson, filmmaker known for his Slime City franchise as well as films like Johnny Gruesome, Widow’s Point, and Guns of Eden.
Brinke Stevens, iconic horror scream queen, known for her work in films like The Slumber Party Massacre and the Sorority Babes in the Slime Bowl-O-Rama franchise to name a few.
Dead Meat, YouTube channel made famous for its podcast, “kill counts”, and all around fun in the horror genre, hosted by James A. Janisse with the occasional episodes by James’ wife, Chelsea Rebecca and the hilarious Zoran Gjovic.
Finally, we have posthumously, the legendary “King of the B-movies”, Roger Corman, an icon known for jumpstarting the careers of famous actors and filmmakers today such as Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese, and even helped Ron Howard with his first film as director!
This is dedicated to both the inductees and to the memories of both Roger Corman and Jose Valentin (my father).
