Madeleine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez find themselves targeted by The Strangers in the official trailer to the first installment of a proposed trilogy that continues the modern horror classic.

After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive.

Renny Harlin directed the film from a script by Alan R. Cohen & Alan Freedland with the story credit by the franchise’s creator, Bryan Bertino.

The Strangers: Chapter 1 will be hitting theaters on May 17 from Lionsgate.
