If things go as planned, we could finally see Kickboxer: Armageddon in 2024.

Dimitri Logothetis, who will return to the director’s chair for what will be the final installment of the rebooted saga, talked to Decider about the film and said the script is definitely done and is now looking to get an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA to begin production in January. He even revealed the plot of the film:

Kickboxer Armageddon sees Kurt Sloane’s world turned upside down once again, when an explosion meant for him kills his wife and baby. With nothing left to lose, Kurt runs ferociously through the underground fight scene of Malaysia, training to track down and assassinate the man responsible, Master Durand’s twin brother Cesare.”

Alain Moussi is returning as Kurt Sloane and Jean-Claude Van Damme is expected to return as both Master Durand and now twin brother (and new villain) Cesare. So it looks like if that’s the case, we won’t see a main fighter in the form of a hulking giant, but rather have a full-blooded fight against Van Damme himself.

Mike Tyson and Christopher Lambert may be returning to their roles from Kickboxer: Retaliation, respectively boxer and ally Briggs and fight ring mastermind Thomas Moore. Rumored names to be joining the fray include the returning Georges St-Pierre (from Kickboxer: Vengeance), Urijah Faber, and Cory Garbrandt.

If this is the case, most likely we will get Kickboxer: Armageddon in mid-to-late 2024.
