Thanks to Lee Golden at Film Combat Syndicate for the lowdown on one of the most anticipated throwback action films!

After a successful Kickstarter and IndieGoGo campaign, production had begun on The Last Kumite, deemed a major throwback to 80’s martial arts tournament films, especially Bloodsport. Ross Clarkson, whose work as a cinematographer is the stuff of legends, directed the film and if that’s not amazing enough, check out the talent who will appear in the film.

Cynthia Rothrock, Billy Blanks, Matthias Hues, Mohammed and Abdel Qissi and Kurt McKinney star in the film alongside German powerhouse Mathis Landwehr, French superkicker Emilien De Falco, the scion that is David Yeung (son of the legendary Bolo Yeung) and David “Viking Samurai” Kurzhal.

Bloodsport and Kickboxer composer Paul Hertzog scored the new film and the iconic Stan Bush, who sang the themes for both 80s fans will be excited to know he has a new song in the film, called “No Surrender” alongside another new song.

If you’re into the old school tournament films of the 80s and 90s, then you’re gonna want to see The Last Kumite in 2024!!!
