Recently, the filmmaking duo of Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey talked about what to expect in the upcoming sequel Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, which will premiere on February 14, 2024.
First, they talked about having a bigger budget will mean much more. First, the make-up effects for the film has caused a massive upgrade in terms of Pooh and the crew, which will bring back Piglet and add both Owl and Tigger to join the chaos. The original Pooh and Piglet cost under $1000 using Halloween masks, lumberjack outfits, and rubber gloves. However, with a cost of $20,000, Frake-Waterfield and Jeffrey employed a team responsible for turning Ralph Fiennes into Lord Voldemore in the Harry Potter films to give Pooh a major upgrade.

Not only will Jeffrey produce the film, but he will be starring in the film as Christopher Robin, replacing Nikolai Leon. In addition, Pooh himself will have a new actor with Ryan Oliva replacing Craig David Dowsett as the titular bear with Eddy McKenzie taking over the role of Piglet from Chris Cordell. Marcus Massey, a longtime collaborator of Frake-Waterfield and Jeffrey, will take on the role of Owl and Lewis Santer will take on the role of Tigger, who goes into public domain in January, hence his including in the sequel.
Tallulah Evans, Alec Newman, and internationally renowned actor Simon Callow have joined the cast and many wonder why Callow would appear in a film of this element and it is all thanks to Jeffrey, who co-starred alongside the thespian on the film Doctor Jekyll, which stars Eddie Izzard as the scientist.
The bigger budget also allows the film to have more kills than the previous film. Where there were under ten in the first film, Frake-Waterfield and Jeffrey plan to have over 30 kills in the new film.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is now available on Blu-Ray from Shout! Studios and is streaming on Peacock while Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 will have a theatrical release date of February 14, 2024.
