One of legendary manga artist Go Nagai‘s characters has a new movie and will be hitting the U.S. next month! While Devilman failed with audiences, his character of Lion Girl has been getting early rave from the film festival circuit.

Shot entirely in Los Angeles during the height of the Covid lockdown, LION-GIRL was produced in association with Tokyo’s Toei Video and tells the story of survivors of a meteor shower who are left to defend themselves against each other and monsters known as “Anoroc” who hunt and kill human beings for their lifeforce.

Tori Griffith takes on the titular role of Lion Girl and is joined by David Sakurai, Damien TooFeek Raven, and Derek Mears. Kurando Mitsutake (Karate Kill) wrote the screenplay and directed the film based on Nagai’s manga.

Cleopatra Entertainment will be releasing the film on DVD/Blu-Ray on November 7!
