South African filmmaker Michael Oblowitz was a part of the New York “No Wave” subculture, having worked in films for over four decades. His works has been considered top notch and well regarded. His latest film, Confidential Informant, is a Scorsese-esque indie drama about two cops who hatch a scheme that doesn’t go as planned during the 1990s crack epidemic of NYC. The film, starring Nick Stahl, Dominic Purcell, Kate Bosworth, and Mel Gibson, is on VOD and Digital today as well as being in select theaters in NY & LA before a nationwide release on June 30 from Lionsgate.

Special Thanks to Michael Oblowitz and Alta Global Media for making this interview possible.
