UPDATE: The film has been moved back to August 30, 2024.

It’s time to “hunt” in the official trailer to the latest film in the Sony Spider-Man Universe (SSU), with Aaron Taylor-Johnson playing Kraven the Hunter.

The story is part-origin, as we learn after he is attacked by a lion and left for dead by his own father, Kraven possesses the powers of a lion and decides to use his powers for good. In the comics, Kraven was a big game hunter who would attempt to find his biggest “game” in Spider-Man himself. There had been times when Kraven was an anti-hero, as will be the case in the film.

Alongside Taylor-Johnson, Fred Hechinger will play his brother, Alessandro Nivola as the villain (with a big reveal at the end of the trailer) and Russell Crowe as his father. J.C. Chandor directed the film from a script by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk. The legendary Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created the character.

Kraven the Hunter will hit theaters on October 6 from Sony Pictures.
