It’s going to happen…but we will have to wait a few years. But will it be worth the wait?

Currently out doing press for WandaVision, which premieres this Friday on Disney+, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige was asked about that good ol’ Merc with a Mouth possibly joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The good news is that Deadpool will be joining the MCU. The bad news? We will have to wait until at least 2023 at the earliest, but here are the current developments on this iconic superhero’s introduction to the MCU.

Deadpool 3 will be the introduction of Wade Wilson to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Could this third installment be the first R-rated movie of the MCU? It is looking that way as Feige has told fans that the film will keep its R-rated style and humor. After all, what’s Deadpool without cursing up a storm and using his swords and guns to kill the villains.

Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are writing the script with the man himself, Ryan Reynolds, overseeing and putting his input in. However, Feige did say that production will not happen this year as Reynolds’ schedule and Marvel’s scheduling is all set already. Production is not expected to begin until 2022 so that means we most likely won’t see Deadpool 3 until 2023.

More as this develops….but here’s an early welcome to the Merc with the Mouth to the MCU.
