The Force will continue to stay strong with Rian Johnson.
The director of the upcoming installment The Last Jedi, has signed with LucasFilm and Disney to helm an official new trilogy of Star Wars epics that will take a different route and shy away from the Skywalker Saga. Instead, Johnson’s new trilogy will “explore a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored”
LucasFilm head Kathleen Kennedy had this to say about Johnson and his new trilogy:
“We all loved working with Rian on ‘The Last Jedi. He’s a creative force, and watching him craft ‘The Last Jedi’ from start to finish was one of the great joys of my career. Rian will do amazing things with the blank canvas of this new trilogy.”
While Johnson begins preparations for this new trilogy, look out for Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 15 in theaters everywhere.
