In some surprising news, Best Supporting Actor winner Mahershala Ali has dropped a bit of a bombshell in regards to one of his next projects.
It had already been confirmed he will be joining the cast of Robert Rodriguez‘s live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga Alita: Battle Angel. However, the surprising news is that Ali spoke backstage at the Oscars and announced he will actually have two roles in the film. As reported earlier, one of the characters is a villain named Vector, but the other role is currently a secret.
Ali joins Rosa Salazar in the title role, along with Christoph Waltz, Michelle Rodriguez, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Connelly, and Ed Skrein in the James Cameron-produced film, set for release in 2018.
