Spider-Man is going to have a lot more than he will be able to take on in the official teaser trailer to Spider-Man: No Way Home, Jon Watts‘ third installment in the Sony-MCU crossover franchise featuring your friendly neighborhood, wall-crawling, web-slinging hero.
After the finale of Spider-Man: Far from Home, Peter Parker is in a major rut as his identity has been exposed to the world. Deciding to get help from Dr. Stephen Strange, Peter wants to go back when people didn’t know who he was. However, Dr. Strange’s attempt to cast the spell leads to disastrous results and what was teased in Far from Home has come to reality: a multiverse that has hit New York City!
Tom Holland suits up again as Peter Parker/Spider-Man with Benedict Cumberbatch returning as Dr. Strange. Zendaya returns as MJ and Jacob Batalon returns as Peter’s BFF Ned. However, get ready fans as we see the triumphant return of Alfred Molina as Doctor Otto Octavius, aka Doctor Octopus. Molina took on the role of the classic villain in what is hailed as the best of Sam Raimi‘s original Spidey trilogy, Spider-Man 2 in 2004. Also set to return from The Amazing Spider-Man franchise is Jamie Foxx as Electro. However, there are rumored to be some more surprises and a key element in the teaser may see the return of a certain “goblin”.
Spider-Man: No Way Home comes to theaters on December 17 from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.
