John Wick is about to get a major surprise!
It has been announced that legendary Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen (left) will be joining the cast of John Wick Chapter 4, which is set to begin production this summer. Yen will be joining Keanu Reeves in the role of an old ally who shares the same history and same enemies as the titular assassin. What will it be like if these two ether team up or go against one another? It’s sure to be an action fan’s dream come true.
In addition, Shamier Anderson (right), who plays U.S. Marshall Dobbs on the series Wynonna Earp, has also joined the cast in an unspecified role. Yen and Anderson join Reeves and Japanese-British singer Rina Sawayama, who is making her feature film debut on the latest installment. It is expected we may see Laurence Fishburne return to the franchise as The Bowery King and Ian McShane as Winston, the man behind the Continental.
Chad Stahelski is set to return as director from a script by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, replacing franchise creator Derek Kolstad, who has given his blessing to the upcoming film.
Production is set to shoot in France, Germany, and Japan and is set for release in 2022.
