After loads of development and a warm reception at various film festivals, The Paper Tigers have scored an official release thanks to Well Go USA and here is the official trailer.
As teenagers, kung fu aficionados Danny, Hing, and Jim were inseparable, but drifted apart after graduation due to a mysterious fallout at an overseas tournament. Fast forward 25 years, and each has grown into a washed-up middle-aged man seemingly one kick away from pulling a hamstring—and not at all preoccupied with thoughts of martial arts or childhood best friends. But when their old master is murdered, the trio will reunite after decades of silence, soon learning that avenging their sifu will require conquering old grudges (and a dangerous hitman still armed with ample knee cartilage) if they are to honorably defend his legacy.
Alain Uy, Ron Yuan, and Mykel Shannon Jenkins play the titular “Paper Tigers” with Yoshi Sudarso, Peter Sudarso, and Gui DaSilva-Greene as their younger versions alongside Roger Yuan as their sifu. Andy Le, Brian Le, Yuji Okumoto, and Matthew “Master Ken” Page co-star in the film written and directed by Tran Quoc Bao.
The Paper Tigers will be unleashed in select theaters on May 7 from Well Go USA.
